Quick answers for operators setting up valet or self-serve parking on TapValet. Account-specific help must be sent from your signed-in dashboard.
Go to Pricing → Sign up, choose Starter or Professional, and complete the form. You receive your own subdomain (for example yourname.localhost in development) and can sign in immediately to add venues and staff.
Use Operator Login on the marketing site to find your facility subdomain, or go directly to https://yoursubdomain…/login.html. Each tenant has its own login URL.
Starter ($20/month plus a platform fee on completed card transactions) is designed to get a single site live quickly with core valet and self-serve tools. Professional ($149/month with a lower platform fee) adds advanced analytics, custom branding, premium add-ons (guest feedback, member subscriptions, room-number intake), multi-venue management at scale, and priority support. Compare the full feature matrix on Pricing — live rates load from platform configuration.
Yes. Tenant administrators can upgrade or downgrade from Tenant Settings → Subscriptions. Your monthly fee and platform fee percentage change with the plan; transaction history and venue data stay in your account.
Tenant admin — owns billing, business verification, and all venues. Venue admin — manages one valet facility or self-serve lot (rates, staff, queue). Attendant — intake and queue at the stand (tablet workflow). Valet — retrieve and assign vehicles from the live queue (mobile-friendly). Viewer — read-only access for auditors or front-desk partners. Roles are assigned per venue from Team settings; each login sees only what their role allows.
Professional tenants can enable optional modules from the platform admin console (or your tenant admin when provisioned): Guest Feedback (post-service ratings), Member Subscriptions (recurring parkers and key tags), and Room Number Intake (hotel room capture on tickets). Starter includes core operations only; premium modules are not available on Starter.
Signed-in tenant admins can open Support from the tenant home for account-wide issues. At a venue, venue admins and attendants can submit facility-scoped requests (valets and viewers cannot). Messages include your tenant and venue context automatically so we can verify identity. Use the public contact form for sales only — not live operations troubleshooting.
Tenant and venue administrators can issue card refunds from the transaction ledger when your payment processor allows it. By default, attendants cannot refund — the venue owner can enable Allow attendant refunds under Venue Settings → Staff permissions if your policy requires stand-level refunds. All refunds are logged in the ledger.
Open your self-serve lot dashboard, go to signage or QR tools, and download print-ready codes for entry lanes. Post them where drivers can scan before parking. Unmanned lots rely on patrol staff to verify paid sessions — TapValet does not control physical gates.
No. Customers open a secure link in their mobile browser (SMS or QR). Staff use the operator dashboard in a browser on a tablet or phone. A reliable internet connection is required.
Valet attendants should use a tablet for intake and queue work at the stand. Supervisors and valets can also use a phone for mobile retrieve workflows. There is no app store download — only a browser.
No. TapValet does not control physical gates. It works alongside your existing access equipment, or without gates entirely. Many self-serve lots use QR check-in and patrol verification instead of barrier hardware.
For unmanned lots, drivers scan a QR code to check in and pay online before parking. For manned self-serve lots, staff can start sessions at the lot dashboard. Patrol staff verify paid vehicles and can flag issues from a mobile patrol view. Regular monitoring is required for enforcement.
Customers pay by credit card online on their ticket or parking session link. Card-present collection is available for staff at the valet stand. Cash is not supported by default, which reduces theft risk and keeps a clear audit trail in the transaction ledger.
Yes. Tenant administrators manage multiple valet facilities and self-serve lots from a central home page, switch between venues, and assign staff per location. Plan limits apply — see Pricing for current tiers.
Starter is billed monthly and lets you run live valet and self-serve operations on your own subdomain. Platform fees also apply on completed card transactions. Advanced analytics, custom branding, and premium add-ons require Professional. See Pricing for current rates and the full comparison — numbers stay accurate there.
Your tenant is the business entity — the legal account that owns billing, business verification, and staff limits. A venue is an operating location under that business: a valet stand, a self-serve parking lot, or both. One business can run multiple venues of different types from a single tenant home page.
Before payment processing goes live, we must confirm each operator is a legitimate business — not a shell company or fraudulent account. Verification protects customers, card networks, and other operators on the platform. You can operate in a limited mode while verification is in progress; full ticket and payment workflows unlock after approval.
US businesses must provide legal business name, business structure (LLC, corporation, etc.), a valid EIN, full street address, business phone, and business email in Tenant Settings → Business Verification. After you submit, TapValet reviews the information and emails you when your account is approved or if more detail is needed.
Pending review — signup complete; complete business verification and wait for approval (settings and support only). Active — full operations enabled. Suspended — login blocked by platform admin (billing, abuse, or failed verification). For account-specific status, sign in and open Support from your dashboard.
When a business account is archived by platform admin, related data is retained for a scheduled retention period (currently up to seven years) before permanent purge, unless hard-deleted sooner per policy. Active operators can archive individual venues from the tenant home when all tickets at that venue are closed.
Sign in to your operator account and open Support from the tenant home, valet venue dashboard, or self-serve lot dashboard. Requests sent there include your tenant ID and venue details automatically so we can verify your identity. The public contact form is for sales and general inquiries only — not account or venue troubleshooting.
On the login page, use “Forgot password” and follow the email link. Tenant admins can also send a reset link from Team settings. If you are locked out of the owner account, use Support in your tenant dashboard (or ask another tenant admin to submit a request while signed in).
Venue administrators see live queue status, transaction history, and revenue summaries in the facility dashboard. Self-serve lot owners have period-based revenue views on the lot dashboard. Professional plan tenants get expanded analytics and reporting.
Yes. Each tenant account is logically separated. Your customers, sessions, payments, and staff exist only in your tenant context.
Guests reply STOP to the TapValet SMS thread (also UNSUBSCRIBE / CANCEL). Our SMS carrier (Twilio) confirms the opt-out and blocks further sends. Reply START to resubscribe, or HELP for carrier help. This is carrier-managed — not a TapValet in-app setting. See also Privacy & Cookies § Text Messages. During Twilio trial you may see an extra “Configure your number’s SMS URL…” reply when texting the number; that is trial/inbound webhook setup, not a TapValet chatbot.
